About Us
Hi there! I am Ishita Gupta, and I am building thefinancialhygiene.
The Financial Hygiene platform provides you with the tools and knowledge that is aimed to be deeper than the usual personal finance content. My belief is that concepts and products are two different things, and it is important to understand the former to make the most of the latter.
The outputs of our calculators are an input to your financial journey. We believe that the right math can make a difference, and our mission is to empower you with the right set of inputs that you can use to achieve your financial goals and improve your financial well-being. Every calculator that is available on thefinancialhygiene is designed to not just give you a single number, but rather a comprehensive set of results and learning resources, so you can apply that understanding to your unique situation and make adjustments as needed. We try to achieve this by following a three-step approach of Clarity, Confidence and Control.
Clarity
We recommend that you read the article or watch a video dedicated to each calculator. This is aimed to give you clarity on the underlying principles and concepts.
Confidence
The next step is to run the numbers by yourself. Use the calculator with different scenarios and see what fits your needs. Having numbers seen by yourself will add confidence to your decision-making.
Control
With the combined power of conceptual clarity and having the tools by your side to apply that knowledge, you can take control of your finances in a much more informed way and structured finacial thinking.
