I am a software developer, and my engineering experience has taught me that reading helps to understand a concept, but confidence comes only once you are hands-on with it. That is the thinking I brought into thefinancialhygiene. I build tools alongside the articles that explain a concept like SIP or a product like PPF, so you not only just read about it but also test it by running your own numbers.

The aim is to cover the nuances that are often missed by similar tools available online. Finance is vast, and I think concepts should not be diluted just to make them look simple. They should be made understandable without losing what matters.

How to use this space

Read the concept. Try the math. Ask better questions, Know you Trade-Offs in your next financial conversation.

01

Clarity

Understand the idea before you act on it.

02

Confidence

Test the assumptions with your own numbers.

03

Control

Know enough to ask better questions and understand the trade-offs.

Ask better questions

Control is not about knowing everything. It is about knowing enough to question the trade-offs before you act.

Control

Use the concept and the numbers to ask better questions to yourself, your advisor, or anyone helping you make the decision.

What am I assuming? What changes the outcome? What trade-off am I accepting?

Why I write about money and finance

Software has been my career — personal finance became a genuine interest alongside it, one I eventually took seriously enough to study formally.
